Engaging margins is a two-day international conference that is organised by Ghent University and Université catholique de Louvain, Group for Early Modern Cultural Analysis (GEMCA).
How does marginal imagery in early art reflect, encourage or interact with cognitive processes ?
This conference aims to assess to what extent images placed in the margins of a main literary or visuel work could reflect, encourage or interact with cognitive processes. In doing so, it seeks to combine to fields of inquiry : the history of ideas and visual media in early modern Europe.
